Private pay vs. insurance-based PT
You are paying for a complete plan of care with one expert, not a count of visits. Here is what that changes.
| Achieve (private pay) | Typical insurance-based clinic | |
|---|---|---|
| Time with your PT | A full 60 minutes, 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy | Often split between patients, with aides handling parts of the visit |
| Who treats you | Dr. Julie Roy, every visit | Can change from visit to visit |
| Your plan | Built around your goal and adjusted as you progress | May be shaped by visit caps or authorization rules |
| Referral | Not needed. Illinois allows direct access. | Sometimes required by your plan |
| Cost | Known up front: $199 evaluation, follow-ups listed above | Copays and deductibles vary; the final bill can be hard to predict |
| Paying | HSA/FSA accepted, plus superbills for out-of-network reimbursement | Billed through your insurance |
Questions about reimbursement? Julie can walk you through it on the free 20-minute consult.
